Camerons announced as main contractor for IFC 5
Jersey Development Company (JDC) has agreed and signed terms with local construction firm Camerons to construct the second building at the International Finance Centre, Jersey.
Camerons was successfully appointed as the main contractor for IFC 5, having successfully constructed and near completion of IFC 1, the first building at IFC Jersey and due to be completed in March 2017.
IFC 5 is a six storey building with 69,000 sq. ft. net internal space with a basement providing 48 car parking spaces and 72 bicycle spaces. Sufficient level of pre-let was secured with SANNE Group plc of 50% of the building (35,000 sq.ft.) which has allowed construction to commence with immediate effect.
The building will be delivered to a CAT A specification with raised access flooring, lighting and air-conditioning allowing tenants to fit out space for their own requirements. Practical completion of the building is due at the end of July 2018.
JDC is committed to delivering a flagship office district that will provide the highest quality office buildings in Jersey with column free floorplates offering occupiers complete flexibility on their fit-outs and having excellent levels of natural light that has been scientifically proven to improve staff well-being and productivity.
The development will directly benefit the local economy as Camerons and many of its sub-contractors are local companies and therefore it is anticipated there will be many employment opportunities in a varied field of positions from site management to trade operatives and apprentices.
