First building completed at IFC Jersey
Jersey Development Company (JDC) is delighted to announce the completion of the first building at IFC Jersey.
IFC 1 provides 68,000 sq ft of modern, Grade A office space over six floors and includes private parking for 33 cars and 72 bikes. IFC 1 is also the first completed building in Jersey to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ environmental rating.
The IFC buildings have been designed to service Jersey’s primary financial services industry by providing modern, Grade A office space in standalone buildings. The highly glazed, four-sided façades feature floor to ceiling windows and column free floor plates. The high levels of natural light improve staff well-being and productivity. The column-free floorplates provide occupiers with efficient use of space and complete flexibility for fit-outs.
Local company Camerons were chosen to construct IFC 1 and as part of JDC’s commitment to provide buildings of the highest quality, JDC commissioned an award-winning design team that included: MJP Architects with Sir Richard MacCormac for the architecture and Waterman Group plc as the full services engineers.
Lee Henry, Managing Director of JDC said; “We are obviously delighted we have completed the first building on the IFC site. The surrounding public areas are also finished and we have received some very positive comments about the water and granite features included with IFC 1.
“60% of the building was pre-let before completion and we’re now seeing increased levels of interest now that potential tenants can see the benefits of what the IFC can offer. We will be announcing new lettings once legal arrangements have been completed.”
Reza Schuster, Director of MJP Architects said; "MJP are proud to be part of the team delivering a world class new financial district for Jersey’s premier industry. IFC 1 has an important place in the overall development, as the first link in the chain between the Waterfront and the Historic Town, and by setting a gold standard for future phases."
Simon Silbernagl, Managing Director of local contractor Camerons said; “We were delighted to have been JDC's chosen construction partner for the international finance centre. This new island landmark was a technically challenging project and we are very proud of what has been achieved through proactive teamwork and a solution based collaborative approach."
